Modern Slavery Policy

Our Statement

Space Interiors Systems Ltd (“the Company”) is part of the UK interior construction sector and recognises it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking. We specialise in the supply and installation of all forms of suspended ceilings, solid, linings and associated construction and refurbishment services. We work on a variety of retail, commercial, leisure, industrial and public sector projects throughout the UK.  The Company is involved in providing technical design support, the sourcing and the procurement of materials and resources; project management and overseeing site-based installation services. This statement applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, agency workers, sub-contractors and suppliers.

Our supply chain includes office fit-out and refurbishment specialists, raw materials manufacturers, distribution businesses, trade providers of fixtures and fittings, companies who supply sub-contractors and site based resources, and advisors who support us on matters relating to health and safety, employment, accountancy, legal affairs and other matters relating to the business day to day.

We require our suppliers and contractors to support our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are taking the following steps:

  • Mapping our supply chain and carrying out a risk assessment of our suppliers;
  • Writing to key suppliers to seek confirmation of their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act);
  • Updating our standard commercial contract terms to impose obligations upon suppliers that they comply with the Act;
  • Reviewing our internal policies to address modern slavery risks;
  • Providing refresher training for staff.
  • All of the above steps will be completed by the end of June 2019.

Supply Chain Risks

Where possible we build long - standing relationships with suppliers in the UK and make clear our expectations of business behaviour.

We pay particular attention to the supply of sub-contract labour for sites in London and other geographical areas. This subcontract labour is sourced predominantly through third party contacts based on reputation and skill set but can also use employment and/or recruitment agencies who operate in a multi-national population.

Responsibility

The Owner is responsible for the Company’s anti-slavery initiatives through supply chain risk assessments, internal staff training and policies, which include a Whistleblowing Policy and a Confidential Disclosure Form, a Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and by clear vetting and security procedures where required.

The Company’s Owner has approved this statement, which will be reviewed and updated annually
